Whitney Shipp was born January 24, 1986 in Clinton, North Carolina. Being that her father was in the Army, Whitney grew up all around the world.
She graduated from Seventy-First High School in June 2004. After studying Nursing at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Whitney decided that the clinical side of the medical field was not for her. She enjoys being on the managerial aspect of things. Two years later she went into the United States Air Force. She served six years on active duty before transitioning into the United States Air Force Reserves, putting all focus on her education. Airman Shipp is currently serving her 8th year of military service.
Whitney provides medical assistance as a Medical Technician to soldiers and their dependents at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, NC. Working in the operating room alongside doctors and nurses has given Whitney the idea to stay in the medical field.
Whitney is a college student who is working towards managing her own Pediatric Clinic. She is majoring in Healthcare Management with a minor in Sociology with hopes of graduating from Fayetteville State University in December 2016. From there she plans on overseeing healthcare professionals in her own business.
When she is not working at the hospital or busy with school work, Whitney enjoys spending her time giving back to the community. She volunteers at homeless shelters, different Salvation Army establishments and Goodwill Shops. Whitney participates in a program called “Meals-on-Wheels” which includes meals being prepared and then delivered to the elderly in the local community. She is very passionate about helping others along the way. “When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.”- Maya Angelou
